1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Coastbook platform, you fully and unconditionally accept these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any term, please do not use the platform.
Coastbook reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. In case of material changes, you will be notified via email or platform notification at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modifications.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and GDPR Rights, constitute the entire agreement between you and Coastbook.
2. Service Description
Coastbook is an online beachbed booking platform for beach bars and beaches. Our platform provides:
For businesses:
- Interactive map editor for managing beachbed positions
- Real-time booking system with calendar and daily view
- Online payments via Stripe Connect
- Automated email notifications (confirmation, reminder, daily report)
- Detailed statistics and revenue reports
For customers:
- Online beachbed booking via interactive map
- Date, zone, and specific beachbed selection
- Secure online payment or on-site payment
- Email notifications
Important clarification: Coastbook operates exclusively as an intermediary between customers and beach businesses. We are not beach service providers. The booking contract is entered directly between the customer and the business.
3. Business Accounts
For creating and using a business account on Coastbook, the following rules apply:
Registration requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must have legal authority to represent the business
- You must provide accurate and up-to-date information
- Each business can have only one account
Account holder obligations:
- You are responsible for maintaining your account security (password, email)
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Account transfer to third parties is not permitted without our written consent
- You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account
Business content:
- You are solely responsible for the prices, descriptions, and photos you publish
- Content must not be misleading, offensive, or illegal
- Coastbook reserves the right to remove inappropriate content
4. Bookings & Payments
Booking contract: Bookings are made directly between the customer and the beach business. Coastbook facilitates the transaction but is not a contracting party to the booking agreement.
Online payments:
- Processed exclusively via Stripe using Stripe Connect
- Payment goes directly to the business's Stripe account
- Coastbook charges a platform fee on each online transaction, deducted automatically
- Prices are displayed in the currency set by the business
On-site payment:
- Businesses can accept on-site payment (cash or card at the point)
- In this case, Coastbook is not involved in the payment process
Cancellations & Refunds:
- Cancellations are subject to each business's policy
- For online payments, refunds are processed via Stripe
- Coastbook is not responsible for disputes regarding cancellations or refunds between customers and businesses
5. Subscriptions & Fees
Coastbook offers subscription plans for businesses:
Plans:
- Basic: Core features for small businesses
- Pro: Advanced features with detailed analytics
- Premium: Full functionality with unlimited beachbeds and priority support
Billing & Renewal:
- Billing is monthly via Stripe
- The trial period lasts 14 days — no card required
- After the trial, the subscription auto-renews
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice
Cancellation:
- You can cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No prorated refunds are provided for partial months
Platform fee:
- On each online transaction, Coastbook charges a platform fee
- The percentage is displayed on the pricing page and in the dashboard
6. Acceptable Use
By using the platform, you agree not to:
- Use the platform for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
- Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information
- Attempt to breach the security or systems of the platform
- Copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of the platform
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools without written permission
- Interfere with the operation or performance of the platform
- Harass, threaten, or defame other users or businesses
- Publish content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages
Coastbook reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice in serious cases.
7. Intellectual Property
Coastbook ownership: Coastbook, its logo, design, source code, trademarks, and all software are the exclusive intellectual property of us or our licensors. They are protected by international copyright, trademark, and industrial property law.
User content: Logos, photos, descriptions, and other content uploaded by businesses remain their property. However, by uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and reproduce it in the context of operating and promoting the platform.
Restrictions: Use of Coastbook's name, logo, or trademarks without our written consent is prohibited.
8. Limitation of Liability
Coastbook is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Coastbook is not liable for:
- Direct or indirect damages from technical issues, errors, or downtime
- The quality, safety, or availability of services provided by beach businesses
- Disputes, claims, or damages between customers and businesses
- Loss of revenue, profits, data, or business opportunities
- Unauthorized access to accounts due to user negligence
- Third-party content or external links
In any case, Coastbook's maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the last 12 months.
The above does not exclude liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death/personal injury, in accordance with the law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coastbook, its employees, partners, and representatives from any claim, damage, expense, or liability (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the platform
- Violation of these Terms of Use
- Infringement of third-party rights
- Content you published on the platform
10. Termination & Suspension
By Coastbook: We may suspend or terminate your account in case of:
- Violation of these Terms of Use
- Suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Non-payment of subscription after grace period
- Inactivity for more than 12 months
By you: You can delete your account at any time through account settings. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except for data that must be retained for legal reasons.
Consequences of termination: Upon termination, you lose access to your account, booking data, and analytics. Active bookings will be fulfilled normally.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Use are governed by Greek law. For any dispute regarding the interpretation or application of these terms:
- We will first attempt amicable resolution within 30 days
- If no agreement is reached, the competent courts are the courts of Athens, Greece
If you are a consumer in the EU, you can also submit a complaint to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. Data Protection

13. Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to fulfill obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including: natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, fires), pandemics or epidemics, government actions or regulations, wars or terrorist acts, power, internet, or telecommunications outages, cyberattacks (DDoS, ransomware, etc.).
The affected party must immediately notify the other party and make reasonable efforts to mitigate the impact.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be replaced with a valid provision that most closely approximates the original intent.
